The 3rd International Computing & Information Sciences Conference (CISCon 2024) is a premier event that will take place on October 28-29, 2024, at Caraga State University, in Butuan City, Philippines. The conference theme for this year is " Fostering a Sustainable and Inclusive Digital Society."
This year’s conference topic, “Fostering a Sustainable and Inclusive Digital Society,” reflects a commitment to advance digital technology while prioritizing environmental sustainability and social inclusivity. With the goal of creating a digital environment that benefits every member of society, thought leaders, researchers, academicians, and industry experts from around the globe bring together and share their knowledge, ideas, and experiences in different areas of computing and digital domain. This conference underscores a proactive and nurturing approach, encouraging collaboration and innovation toward the common objective of creating a digital future that is not only technologically advanced, but also sustainable, accessible to all.
Over the course of the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the workshops and keynote speakers, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, allowing them to engage in meaningful conversations and gain valuable insights into the digital frontier. The event is also a platform to connect with like-minded individuals, forge new partnerships, and explore untapped possibilities in the digital sphere.

OBJECTIVE
The objective of this conference is to bring together researchers, academics, industry experts, and students, fostering discussions and the exchange of ideas, experiences, and expertise across various domains. These include, but are not limited to, artificial intelligence, data science, computer networks, cybersecurity, software engineering, digital innovation, technopreneurship, and information systems.
The event serves as a platform for participants to explore the latest advancements, emerging trends, and future trajectories within these fields toward building a sustainable and inclusive digital society.

PROF. RAPHAËL WEUTS

Plenary Talk:
Why AI does not do what you want, rather what you ask?
PROFESSOR RAPHAËL WEUTS is conducting his research on AI Law at KU Leuven. Additionally, he is Director of AI at multiple organizations focused on evidence-based healthcare guidelines for Belgian healthcare workers, such as ebracticenet. He previously worked with various research institutions and has indirectly contributed to shaping the EU AI Act. Raphaël has a background in Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Computer Science, AI regulation, and ethics. He has been the program director for the Applied AI postgraduate program at Erasmus University College Brussels, was visiting professor of AI Applications at UCLL (UC Leuven), and taught courses on AI, often during the inaugural year of the respective educational programs. His research interests include AI Law, ethical AI applications in healthcare, and governance of AI systems.

DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING AT UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI BRUNEI – ENTERPRISE OFFICE
Dr. Sharina Yunus holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Brunei, concurrently serving as the Director of the Enterprise Office. In this capacity, she has played a pivotal role in formulating and implementing intellectual property (IP) and commercialization policies, aimed at augmenting the university’s Innovation Ecosystem. Notably, she has recently concluded a significant research endeavor funded by the ASEAN research grant project, focusing on addressing the issues and challenges confronting ICT startups in ASEAN. Additionally, Dr. Yunus was recently invited as a keynote speaker at the 7th IET Smart Cities Symposium organized by the University of Bahrain, where she shared insights on advancements in smart city technologies and their implications for urban development. She was recently recognized with the Women in Innovation award in conjunction with World IP Day. Dr. Sharina has a Doctorate in Optoelectronics from the University of Bath, United Kingdom. This track calls for quality IS research on a variety of themes. Broad range of research topic on how information systems impact people, organizations, and the community. Conceptual, empirical, and developmental papers are welcomed. This track is also open for impactful IS research on the business value, governance digital technologies. Relevant IS topics on how IT influences customers and consumers, and customer engagement is also welcome. Multidisciplinary approaches are also accepted, such as but not limited to:

Venue
CARAGA STATE UNIVERSITY
The Caraga State University-Main Campus is nestled in a 232-hectare area, thirty-two (32) hectares of which is allocated for academic buildings and support facilities, including a Gymnasium (currently renovated). The remaining two hundred (200) hectares of land is for the University’s production, research, and extension projects.
Moreover, the CSU-HERO Learning Commons Library stood on a 7,200 sq. meter space catering to more than 2,000 guests and hailed as the Biggest State University Library in Mindanao and awarded as the Most Innovative Library Design in the Philippines by the Philippine Association of Academic and Research Librarians (PAARL). The innovative library is integrated with technology solutions that minimize face-to-face contact when patrons return borrowed books and are built with several offices, reading books, an auditorium, conference rooms equipped with an RFID access control with a 75” interactive board for meetings, and other state-of-the-art facilities. In addition, the HERO learning commons have a library monitoring system that gathers information and generates library usage data and reporting.
